3-Mobile change netbook plans

Mobile Broadband Price plan changes

3-Mobile have made some changes to their netbook deals which we will outline below:

The cut price deal of a compaq mini 700 and 1Gb data allowance for £20 over 24 months has been discontinued.  Don’t be too disheartened though as the replacement deal is a real corker.  You get an Acer Aspire One 150b (thats in blue with windows XP, 1Gb RAM and a huge 160GB Hard drive) with a 1Gb monthly data allowance for the stunning price of £17.50 per month over 24 months.

The 5Gb and 15Gb plans keep the compaq mini 700 but the contract term is reduced from 24 to 18 months for which you pay an extra £5 per month.  This puts the 5Gb compaq mini plan up to £30 per month and the 15Gb compaq mini plan up to £45 per month.  Whilst you are paying more per month this does reduce the overall tied in cost due to the shortened contract.

Sharing Mobile Broadband

Something we have been waiting for for a very long time is the ability to share a mobile broadband connection.  Finally 3-mobile have come up trumps with the Huawei D100 wireless modem.

d100routerYour mobile broadband dongle plugs into the modem and then the connection and data allowance can be shared via a wifi connection.

The router costs a one off payment of £68.50 with any mobile broadband deal whether its a netbook plan or dongle only.

For example a 5Gb dongle only plan on an 18 month contract is £15 per month with a one off payment of £68.50 for the wireless modem and £9.78 for the dongle. You can see the wireless modem deal by clicking the link.

We hope to get our hands on one of these very soon to put it through it’s paces.
